A Basic, Well-Built Battery Charger At A Reasonable Price
I purchased this item because I wanted a basic 6V/12V battery charger to replace my old charger which had died. I have a sophisticated "smart" battery charger which has given excellent service; however with very weak batteries it will sometimes go into "error" mode and not even attempt to recharge a battery. The charger being reviewed contains no microprocessor - it simply applies voltage to the battery terminals. It never fails to try to charge a battery, no matter what the battery's condition is. Since I deal with batteries on tractors and the like, I need a charger with this capability. I use it to bring a discharged battery back to life and then switch the battery to my "smart" charger to rehabilitate the battery. With "smart" chargers being all the rage, well-built "dumb" chargers like this are getting hard to come by. This is a quality product which meets my needs at a reasonable price.

Great adition to anything you need to tend
I have purchased dozens of these to use on rebuild boat projects, as well as on my lawn mower for tending its battery over the long MN winter. Great trickle charger that can recharge a battery before your next outing, or to add to anything that you need to make sure is ready to go for next time. I highly recommend this product. Fine little charger
this is the first Attwood charger i've owned, although i have another brand on my bass boat. to maintain the charge in the battery on my lawn tractor, i installed this battery charger. it fits nicely inside the cowling and works flawlessly....i expect it will maintain that battery all winter, so that when i turn the key next spring, my tractor will crank right up. i recommend the Attwood charger.
