Description
Ocean Signal SafeSea S100 SART (Search and Rescue Transponder) is a dedicated 9GHz X-band radar transponder designed to assist in the rescue of liferafts and survival craft. It complies with IMO SOLAS regulations and is a mandatory safety requirement for many commercial and regulated vessels.
Core Functionality
- Radar Visibility: Once manually activated, the S100 remains in standby until it is swept by an X-band radar from a nearby vessel or aircraft.
- Visual Alert: It responds by transmitting pulses that appear on the searching vessel's radar as a line of 12 dots (blips), providing an exact bearing and range to the survival craft.
- Proximity Indication: As the rescue vessel gets closer, the dots on the radar display transform into concentric circles.
Technical Specifications
