Appears to Be a well-constructed antenna
Appears to be a well-constructed antenna. I replaced a brand-new Galaxy antenna tuned to "standard" VHF frequency with this one tuned specifically for AIS frequencies and immediately increased the receive range of my Class B AIS by several miles. Suspect my transmit range increased as well, but haven't verified. As per most manufacturer recommendations, I would NOT use this antenna for a combination VHF radio/AIS receiver (because I suspect it would reduce the range of VHF "voice" communications.
