Inspected and tested in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations. All rings contain unicellular polyurethane foam for buoyancy. Floating polypropylene grab lines contain UV stabilizers to ensure sunlight resistance. PE and vinyl skin version feature molded-in becket design, vinyl coated foam versions use sewn-in beckets to secure grab line. choose between energy absorbent vinyl skin, vinyl coated foam, or rough, hard shell polyethylene skin. SOLAS approved models equipped with reflective tape.

DO NOT WANT HARD SHELL RING BUOY
I do not want a hard shell ring buoy. I communicated via chat on the IE Boat Supplies website, as I had already ordered and returned one hard-shelled buoy. The customer service said this one was definitely FOAM and could be pressed and it would spring back, etc. NOPE. It's so hard we can't toss it to a child who needs help reaching the side. It has the potential of causing harm to the child's head or face unless they sufficiently shield themselves. I am very disappointed. This one is going back, too.

I needed more than a pool side decoration and a life buoy that was light enough to throw a reasonable distance. I have mounted six of these on posts near the shoreline around a small private lake. I am very pleased with the quality and visibility of the units. The weight is perfect for throwing at about 3-1/2 pounds.
