Description
Marinco Wiper Motor 1000 Series - 12V (traditionally manufactured under the AFI brand name) is a heavy-duty, fully waterproof marine windshield wiper motor designed for exterior installations. It is heavily utilized on center consoles and canvas-topped fishing boats where moisture exposure is guaranteed.
Technical Specifications
- Power Requirements: 12V DC motor with a 0.8 to 1.2 Amp no-load current and a 9.8 to 10A stall current. It requires a 5A fuse.
- Torque & Drive: Generates 55 in-lbs of stall torque, allowing it to easily pull up to a 16" deluxe arm and 16" deluxe blade combination.
- Housing: Built with a UV-stabilized, high-impact, high-temperature thermoplastic cover that fully seals the internal motor.
- Drive Shaft: Features a 5/8" (16 mm) diameter anti-rotation knurled drive shaft alongside a solid brass arm drive nut to minimize slipping.
- RF Shielded: Features built-in RF shielding to minimize radio interference with sensitive marine instrumentation or communication devices.
Configurations & Variations
When buying a 1000 Series motor, you must select the correct shaft length and sweep setting for your boat's configuration:
- Shaft Lengths: Available in either 1.5-inch or 2.5-inch total overall lengths (both versions include a 0.5" knurled arm fitting).
- Sweep Angles: Factory pre-set options include 80° or 110° sweeps. However, the motor's self-parking mechanism is internally adjustable to 50°, 65°, 80°, or 110° sweep arcs.
- Parking: Features adjustable right-side or left-side coast-to-park orientation so the blade clears your direct line of sight.
- Mounting Limitations: This series is not compatible with pantograph arms.
