Description
Weld Mount AT-4020 Acrylic Adhesive is a high-viscosity, two-part structural adhesive designed specifically for mounting fasteners like studs and standoffs without sagging. Its "peanut butter-like" consistency makes it ideal for overhead and vertical applications where parts need to stay in place while curing.

- High Viscosity (Non-Sag): Specially formulated to hold parts on vertical or overhead surfaces without requiring manual support during the initial set.
- Fast Cure Time: Achieves an initial cure in 10–12 minutes and reaches working strength within 30–40 minutes at room temperature (\(72^{\circ}F\)).
- Bonding Capacity: A standard 50 ml cartridge can bond approximately 150–200 parts.
- Shelf Life: Typically, one year when stored at \(72^{\circ}F\); refrigeration is recommended to maintain optimal performance.
Substrate Compatibility
While versatile, this adhesive is optimized for specific materials:
- Recommendation: Best used for composite and plastic bonding applications. It bonds well to fiberglass, glass, and wood.
- Limited Use: Not recommended as the primary choice for metal substrates or low-energy plastics like StarBoard, polypropylene, HDPE, or rubber. For heavy-duty metal bonding, the manufacturer often suggests AT-6030 instead.
Application & Usage
- Application Method: Packaged in a 1:1 ratio 50 ml cartridge, it is best applied using the Weld Mount AT-300 dispensing gun and mixing tips, though it can also be mixed by hand.
- Surface Prep: Surfaces should be wiped with solvent to remove dust and oils. If bonding to metal (where permitted), grinding or using Scotch-Brite to remove oxides followed by an alcohol wipe is advised.
