Polyform air pumps are specifically designed to inflate Polyform boat fenders, buoys, and other marine equipment without over-inflating them. They feature a unique valve compatibility built to match Polyform's custom inflation valves, removing the need for third-party adapters on standard sizes.
Quick Tips for Polyform Fender Inflation
- Do Not Over-Inflate: Fenders should be filled to a maximum of 2 psi. You should easily be able to depress the fender wall about 1/4 inch with finger pressure. Bulging walls indicate over-inflation, which can worsen under hot, intense sunlight.
- Alternative Method: If you choose to use an air compressor instead of a hand pump, ensure it is set to 30 lb of pressure or less, and use a tapered rubber nozzle. Remember to back out the fender's valve screw counterclockwise before inflating and tighten it down only until you feel initial resistance on the valve face afterward.
